Meet the Pastor ... Edwin E. Anderson

Pastor Ed was called by the congregation to serve at Faith Bible Baptist Church in March of 2015.  He and his wife Virginia (Ginger) moved into Yuma in June.  He followed the ministry of Pastor Don Barnes and his wife Jackie who had retired after 15 years of serving the congregation.  The Lord Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, gave this commission to the pastor – to go and make disciples, to baptize believers, and to teach the Word of God so that every believer would be equipped to serve the Lord.

The Andersons have three grown and married children:  Becky, husband Michael Osborne, and children live in Philadelphia, Daniel, Megan, and daughter live in Virginia, and Joanna and her husband James Whitmore are in Colorado.

Ed was born in Northern Michigan and grew up in West Bend, Wisconsin.  Virginia (Ginger) was born in Humboldt, Nebraska, and grew up on the Avery homestead just north of the town.  They met as students at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, and were united in marriage in 1974.  Both finished graduate degrees before returning to the Midwest to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.  They have served the Lord in ministry in Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska for over 40 years.

The mission of Faith Bible Baptist Church is to proclaim the Good News that Jesus came down from heaven on a rescue mission save souls and give them eternal life.  Using the Scriptures, they strive to strengthen families, raise children to know the Lord, and reach out to those who are hurting or in need.
