Perhaps you are wondering about our name - Faith Bible Baptist Church. Our name describes who we
are:
FAITH - we stand steadfast for the faith delivered once for all by the Lord to the
New Testament churches.
BIBLE - the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is our supreme authority for what
we believe and strive to practice.
BAPTIST -
Jesus Christ is the Head and Authority over our congregation (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:22-23). Local pastors and deacons serve the Lord and the
congregation.
The Holy Bible is our source of authority in doctrine and practice.
The congregation is the human authority for the Christian labors and business. Along with that, the building and property are owned by the local
congregation.
Baptism is by immersion, a symbol like a watery grave. Neither baptism nor communion make one a Christian. Baptism follows the personal salvation of a
believer. Both are personal testimonies of salvation. We call it Believer’s Baptism.
The Lord’s Supper is celebrated once a month “in remembrance of” Jesus Christ, the cross He died on, and His resurrection. Unleavened bread and grape
juice remind us of the bodily suffering Jesus endured and His life’s blood shed for sinners.
We believe the prophecies of the Bible: Jesus is coming back again; only God knows when that will be. Jesus will become King in the Millennium
Kingdom.
We believe that a Christian can have the assurance of his/her salvation.
CHURCH - Jesus Christ founded the Church and is its only Head and authority. We endeavor to continue
"steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers" (Acts 2:42). We strive to be conformed to the image and example of Christ in both word and deed.
As the apostles did, we desire to share the good news that Jesus is the only Savior of the world who has the authority to forgive our sins and transform our lives (John 3:16-18).
